Its been a while since my last post (over a month!). I have been extremely busy with school and other things so I have not been able to post on here. However, I am almost done with this semester, so I will be posting a lot more frequently than before.
I wanted to continue the theme of raising babies naturally and healthfully, so I have posted a link for people who would like to circumcise their sons in a more humane and less painful/stressful manner. The website is Holistic Circumcision.
This is an important resource for parents who still believe in the virtues of the Biblical practice of circumcision, but would like it to be as gentle on their son as possible. I hope this is helpful!
Update (Oct, 4 2009): I have since reversed me view of circumcision and now I believe it to be a horrendous practice. Through research I have found out that the circumcision described in the Bible is not as barbaric as the practice done in hospitals today. I have removed the above website from my sites of interest and do not promote it anymore.

Wow, I think this is nuts.
There is no humane way to amputate a perfectly normal healthy and valuable body part. The foreskin includes over half the male's sensual nerve endings.
95% of the world's Christians don't circumcise, because of what they read in the New Testament: http://TLCTugger.com/FAQ-CHRISTIANITY.htm
Christian parents are not supposed to circumcise the flesh. That can all be found either in the New Testament or at http://udonet.com/circumcision/christian.html
From that website:
"There is no room for debate or speculation. Christians are forbidden from practicing routine infant circumcision by the New Testament. There are only two sets of Christians who still circumcise their sons: those who do not know the Bible well enough to know what it teaches about the subject, and those who know but simply do not care (the Bible isn't their measure of living, their own mindset is.)".
Some Jews are no longer circumcising their babies either. http://jewishcircumcision.org/
I'm with those two. There's nothing natural about circumcision. The holistic way to raise a child is to not circumcise him.
None of the above assertions about the teaching of the New Testament is correct. These contributors are probably not committed Christians, as their knowledge of the Bible is so limited.
Jesus Himself validated circumcision in John 6.44. Paul himself circumcised Timothy in Acts 16 after the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 !
The ancient Coptic and Ethiopian churches have always practised circumcision.
What IS true is that circumcision is NOT a requirement for salvation which is by grace through faith in the sacrifice made by Jesus on the Cross.
The idea of holistic home-based, faith-based circumcision for Christians as for Jews is excellent!
What bible is Anonymous using? At John 6 44, mine (NKJV) says "No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day." Could A. possibly be thinking of John 7 23? "If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?" This, his only reference to circumcision, contrasts it with healing, and uses it as an example of over-zealous law-keeping. Paul may have circumcised Timothy "for the sake of the Jews in that region" (Acts 16 3) - part of his strategy of being "all things to all men" (1 Cor 9 19-23) - but he repeatedly speaks out against it for Christians, e.g. Gal 5 2 "If you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing."
And "holistic"? What's "holistic" about slicing and tearing an intimate and integral part of the body off? They could call it "teddybear circumcision" if they liked, but that wouldn't change what it is.
I think that this part from the post is very insteresting:"This is an important resource for parents who still believe in the virtues of the Biblical practice of circumcision,"
